Forest School
Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

The site
Chaldicott Barns are surrounded by 40 acres of beautiful natural woodland where we will hold our sessions. We have a wonderful site within the woodland of field maple, ash, willow, oak, beech and birch. There is a small pond close to our base.

I’m a Mum of two beautiful boys, aged 5 and 7 years old, and step-Mum to a fantastic 14 year old girl and 16 year old boy. Before retraining as a Forest School Leader and Higher Level Teaching Assistant, I worked for the National Trust for 10 years so nature, the environment and children’s relationship with it has been in my heart a long time. Forest school is a gentle, learner-led outdoor experience that I’m really passionate about!
I am a qualified Level 3 Forest School leader, (after training with the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in 2021), am fully insured, enhanced DBS checked, qualified in outdoor and paediatric first aid and have a CACHE qualification in Children and Young People's Mental Health. I am currently training with The Therapeutic Forest in Therapeutic Skills for Outdoor Leaders.
FOREST ELDER SESSIONS
Classes are completely outdoors and child led, so whilst I always come with a plan, we follow little ones' interests - please do expect mud, leaves, sticks and lots of fun and wonder!
I always have lots of free access activities available, as well as one or two that I’ll show you and help you with.
For the older group, they'll be more tool work, and the chance to learn some Forest School skills like knots and fire lighting. For the grown ups, a focus on your wellbeing and mental health, with hopefully some space to enjoy a few activities and recharge in the beautiful woodland too.
My sessions include a forage themed hot drink for adults (or cold if it's super hot) and snack for everyone.
I offer half price sibling rates, and an outdoor clothes swap at the sessions.

Fortnightly 1hr 45min sessions for children aged 6-11 (ish!)
FOREST FAMILY DAYS & EVENTS
A special day each season for all the family to enjoy Forest school activities, campfire cooking and some time together in the woods. Each family day includes snack, lunch and hot drink for everyone.
